Went to PetCo today for some dog and cat food, came home with two new pairs of Iriatherina werneri ._. Um...oops. I couldn't help it, one of the males was insanely gorgeous. I think it's funny that everyone complains about never being able to find females, though, since PetCo had almost nothing BUT females.
Also saw three sunfish in the plant tank and an unknown native cyprinid in with the koi...very tempting, but I've got no place to put them. Especially if the sunnies turned out to be greens, they'd eat everyone. There were a few gambusia in with the rosy reds, too, but I've got no interest in them. Plus I can just imagine the look on the employee's face if I asked them to catch the tiny little guppy-looking thing in the middle of a big crowd of minnows. Still, other than the mosquitofish, these were the first native hitchhikers I've ever found at a pet store! So you know, neat.
I actually thought it was snowing for a moment when I was driving home, until I realized that the "snowflakes" were actually winter moths. There are so many of them around now, it's insane. I could hear the "thunk, thunk, thunk" noises they made as they hit my car. Tika goes nuts trying to catch them every time we go out.
Also, I'm going to ramp up the White Collar pimpage. You know how I extolled the virtues of Supernatural a long time ago? Yeah? So trust me when I say White Collar is GOOD.
